Right. I just thought that... it's just that, it doesn't seem like an age where you already lose track of your age?
I mean, if you had said you're 403 years old, that I could get behind but... [A bit specific, maybe. Also not a good example for losing track of your real age. Oh well.]
It gets harder to keep track really quickly when your...everything...starts working on a different time scale. Like, you get busy doing something and you turn around and bam, it's been like a year.
It's kind of like how when you were a kid, a week seemed like forever, but when you're grown up the months just fly by.
Is it? ... I guess I can relate, at least a little? There's usually so much happening in my life but that's usually – okay, it can get pretty bad but it's a lot less horrifying and trauma inducing and I'm really not used to be stuck in one place for so long and--
... Sorry I've been mopey about not jumping into the murder pit.
Yes. And it's sending my mind into overdrive and then there's too many thoughts that try to go somewhere but nothing is really going anywhere? And then it gets so hard to get out of your head again.
It's not good to have all this downtime. When something does happen...then it's easy to lose sight just because suddenly you can actually do something. Even if it's something kind of dumb.

Uh....
[That's the sound of Tess realizing that she's not sure how old she is.]
Somewhere in my thirties? No -- no, forties. Kind of. Maybe. I'm sure I can't be fifty yet.
It depends.

Well, you definitely don't look like you're in your forties. Is your aging slowed? Are you immortal then?

So you're still relatively new to this whole godhood thing? On a... you know. Immortality time frame of things...

Honestly, I try not to think too much about how much eternity I've got ahead of me.

I guess coming here must have been quite a shock.

Wait, no. Wrong word. Slow. Lacking in agency.

Yeah, I guess. Maybe that's why I feel so strongly about not jumping, I don't know.

I'm glad you didn't do it.

[His smile is a little more relaxed this time.] I'm glad you're... I'm really glad you didn't die.

[Back to the original points, now that she thinks he might actually accept the apology.]

[Look, sometimes he's good about this whole feelings thing. Sometimes.]

[Honestly, there's a lot he hasn't worked through yet simply because there just isn't time.]
We probably should make the most of the one we're getting right now.
